IFPI today announces the appointment of Dr David Price as Director of Insight and Analysis. Based at IFPI's London headquarters, Price will head up the Insight team, providing industry analysis on music consumption and the global recorded music market.
He will lead IFPI’s examination of market trends, changing consumer habits and digital developments, informing its overall strategy in litigation, anti-piracy, government relations, and communications.
Price was formerly Head of Anti-Piracy Research and Analysis at IFPI and is a leading expert in digital piracy and music consumption. Commenting on the appointment, IFPI Chief Executive, Frances Moore, said: “We are delighted that David is moving into this role at IFPI. His expertise and extensive industry experience makes him perfectly placed to lead IFPI’s global insight work.”
Price has an M.Phil and Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Cambridge. Before joining IFPI in 2014 as Head of Anti-Piracy Research and Analysis, he launched and led the Piracy Consulting department at NetNames.
Charles Du Reau will continue in his role as the acting Director of Global Insight until the end of August to ensure a smooth transition.
